Cut off @ 85 questions!!! WHAT NOW??

Ok, I understand that the whole 85 question thing doesnt really count for much. However, I did get a form from Pearson Vue after taking my test that did explain that it doesnt mean that you have passed or failed by taking the min. questions but that it does mean that you have proven yourself *basically passed with flying colors or bombed big time* Does anyone know what and how you pass the thing? I have heard that some of the questions do not even count. I was given off the wall questions that I didn't feel was all that fair. I had at least 7 or 8 questions that I would have never even imagined would be on that test or any other test for that matter. I have also heard that passers and failers have a 50% chance of getting half of them right..Do some of the questions count? some of them don't? which ones? IM SO SCARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took my NCLEX yesterday @ 12:30 and I can find out in 48 hours *(BUSINESS DAYS)*!! I felt as if I guessed alllllllllll the way through it. Some questions will come to me that I did remember getting right ~ Some of them are all a blur~ HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck on your results! You're right some of the questions don't count. I believe the PN exam has 25 experimental questions, and those ones don't count against you. Relax and try not to think about the exam. I know it's easier said than done, but hopefully you did pass. More people pass than fail at the minimum it seems. Good luck!!

I had 85 also and the above is exactly what I told myself. I then went on to resassure myself that I surely didn't do so horribly that they wouldn't even have given me the chance to take a few more questions. I has also checked out the survey here, on RN NCLEX I think, where it looked to me like 90% of people with the minimum did pass. So to make a long story longer, I did too!

Try not to make yourself crazy, most people pass the first time and I'd be very optimistic with an 85. As for figuring out how the heck these things are scored I have no clue and find it a little annoying to have spent the money and time getting my education without being able to figure out the measure of my aptitude. :wink2:
