Curry College ACCEL Program 2016

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hey everyone! I am thinking of applying to Curry College's ACCEL program starting next January 2016 :) I am very anxious, but this might be the best option for me. To be honest, I am a senior in Public Health who failed out Junior year of a previous program. I have all the prereqs done, but has anyone else heard of a student who failed a 4 year college who made it into an ACCEL program? (If you wish to know why you can read some of my old posts- I did not fail for academic reasons, it was an awful situation. In addition, I took an extra honors class, my parents moved to Florida, and I was an RA at the time- so I definitely overwhelmed myself.) I made a 3.88 this semester, and my overall GPA is a 3.15.

My plan if I do choose this school is to work only once or twice a month, to keep my name on the payroll basically, and just focus on school. Nothing else. No other classes, responsibilities, except for maintaining my relationship with my boyfriend.

If there are ANY Alumni out there who would be so kind as to offer an insight into the program, please share! This is kind of my leap of faith.

Anyone else planning on applying for next year is welcome to chat here as well!

Hey there!

I was also recently accepted into the Jan 2016 cohort. Guess it's only 30 people or so?

Is anyone attending the financial aid workshops?

Okay last post, I swear. Check out the Facebook group I just set up, "Curry Accel 2016-2017 Cohort". I feel like it'll be a great way to get to know each other, exchange info, answer questions, etc.

I got wait listed :( I was accepted to MCPHS 2015 Fall start and Massasoit's ASN 2015 Fall start. Does anyone have any advice on what led them to do an accelerated program?

Hi - I was accepted into the 2016-2017 program as well! I will check out the facebook page, too. Looking forward to hearing more about it!

Hi Angela! I will be attending as well and I am very excited!! I tried looking for your fb group and couldn't find it.

I also got accepted into the Curry College accelerated BSN 2016-2017 cohort. I looked for the Facebook group but could not find it. Has anyone had any luck finding it? Also, is anyone in this cohort not from the Boston area? I'm from out of state and am curious about housing and where to even begin looking. Thanks for all the help!

Hi, just reading this thread now, as I plan on applying to Curry's program as well! I was just wondering if you guys mind sharing your prerequisite grades and what not, so I can get a better idea of weather or not ill be accepted. Thank you!!

Hey guys! I just got accepted to the Curry College Accel 2017-2018 cohort. I was wondering if anyone can send me the program curriculum, syllabus, slides, and text book titles, so I can get a head start in studying for the classes. My email is [email protected]. Thank you!

Hi PennyS - not sure if you're still on here. I found this thread when searching for info about Curry. I have 4 small children and I'm just starting the process of applying to Nursing school. I haven't even done my prerequisites yet, but plan to start over the summer. I have been totally overwhelmed at the idea of doing an ABSN with 4 small children, but my husband feels like 1 horrible/terrible year will be easier than 3 somewhat horrible years - ha! Do you mind telling me how it was with the kids? How old were they at the time? I'm worried about shuttling them to activities, etc. and not spending enough time with them.

Hey everyone!! I applied to the accel program and waiting to hear hopefully this week!!!

Good luck to all!!

I have a couple questions to recent students!

1. I know this sounds ridiculous but my best friend is getting married in Mexico next May (2018) and I'm the maid of honor. I'm panicking that I won't be able to make it being in the program.... if I get accepted of course! What are the breaks like? Is this something that can be possible being in the program?

2. I HAVE to be able to work.. is it possible?

3. I also got accepted into Regis so im super torn if I do get into Curry. I graduated from Curry in 2011 undergrand and I loved it I've just heard wonderful things from Regis also.... HELP!

Hi PennyS,

I am looking into applying for the Curry COllege ABSN program and was wondering if I can have a quick call with you? I wanted to learn more about the program and would love to hear from someone who has actually experienced it.
