Currently Licensed Vocation Nurse needing assistance/advice (reserve)

Been comtemplating for a while now between the different branches and what they offer.

As stated above, i am currently a licensed nurse (LVN, california), graduated from Concorde Career College (no degree)

and in big desperation to figure out what i want/need to do.

I have met up with a recruiter yesterday and was able to get some decent information but since i am interested in the medical side of things, it was a bit hard for me to get the answers from whom that didnt have much experience in that field.

**I wasnt able to find any AMEDD recruiters around my area (Chino Hills, CA 91709) so if any of you know of someone please send me a private msg, i will greatly appreciate it**

MY PLAN:

- Since i do not have a degree, i want to further study and get my bachelor of science (preferrably in nursing), & become a officer, eventually. And move up in that platform

- Preferrably stay near home to assist my parents, have some sort of stability (financially,etc)

QUESTIONS:

1) From what i researched, army is the only branch accepting LVN/PNS currently, while the other branches require a 4yr degree, is this true?

2) Talking to my recruiter, i believe he said he would place me in the ranking of E-3. Is this valid?

3) When i attend and complete the 68W schooling, would i be rewarded the m6 identifier *since i already have my license

4) Can you go from Enlisted to Officer? And is it possible for me to join the reserve and go to school to get my degree? Or is it really difficult?

5) Any information on ACASP program?

I just really want to be able to serve my country, experience the life of a soldier, and help those in need.

QUESTIONS:

- All services require a BSN to become an officer. The other braches will accept your LPN for education and bring you in as a medic from what I understand. I know the Navy did when I was HM in the Navy.

2) Talking to my recruiter, i believe he said he would place me in the ranking of E-3. Is this valid?

-Yes, But make sure it is in your contract. In basic you will be paid as an E-3 but treated like all others and be a straight private

3) When i attend and complete the 68W schooling, would i be rewarded the m6 identifier *since i already have my license

- I do not believe that you would have to attend 68W school since LPNs are now their own MOS of 68C. But ask the recruiter since they have the upto date info.

-I did it, I was a HM1 in the Navy Reserve, transfered over to the Army Reserve with my ADN as an officer. Once I completed my BSN I went on active duty. It can be done but with the drawdown it is more diffucult then when I did it. Also, the Army Reserves no longer accepts ADN's for commissioned officers.

5) Any information on ACASP program?

-If you all ready have your license I can not see you having to attend AIT. But ask your recruiter.

-I had a ADN and the Army Reserve offered me a commission and the Navy Reserve was offering me nothing.

-I completed a hybrid RN-BSN program which averaged 2 classes per semester for 2 years. The Army Reserves had nothing to do with my schooling, it is all up to you.

I challenge any Army recruiter to come forth & give me information that I don't already know after being in service for more than 23 years, about attaining a 68C MOS: I attained my 91B (medic back then)- got my EMT on my own through troop schools at Ft. Riley (2000) which made me a 91W, attained my LPN (2007, was told by 1st Army I had to go through the entire 68W 16 week course (they lost half my records but I had copies - they would not take them - I went through the whole course at 42y/o. I have been working as an LPN (GS federal employee) for 10 years at an active duty installation in several clinics and the only thing any recruiter can tell me is "why not just retire" - not a good answer for me. My question to anyone out there who actually knows is: "Must I attend 68C school to be awarded the MOS?

Can't speak to that specifically, but I can say I've seen all manner of overqualified people forced to do military training they don't need to check boxes.  Imagine a physician assistant being forced to take an EMT-P course for the AF's pararescue role.
