Currently in Keiser(kendall) want to transfer to BCC!

hello, i currently am in keiser nursing school in miami. i am almost done with this semester. our program is 4 semesters, and the gpa requirement is 3.0 to stay in the program. i walked in with the a 3.69, and had to complete 8 classes(a&p 1 and 2,psych,math, english, comp, creative writting, and microbio/lab) before entering the program. i am currently struggling in my fundamentals/clinicals (the same as nur proc 1 and 2 at bcc), i have a 74 in the class, but we need to get a 76.9 in order to pass the class. i am freaking out because i would have to wait another year to retake the class, and it will cost me 3,500 for the class (its a 8 credit class plus clinicals credits and the thought of having to retake this class is soooo dreading. (everyone in the nursing program says its the hardest class because thats where they build your foundation) any who, i was thinking of applying to bcc for school because i heard they dont have a wait list. i have all my req except i dont have hcc and chem. if i dont pass the class i will be registering for it in the summer at bcc south. anyone have teacher reccomendations and how do i go about registering for hcc? i went to talk to an advisor, but apparently she was new and i knew more answers then she did. she was a complete waste of my time to drive up from kendall.

i dont know if bcc would accept my fundamentals class, but either way, i dont care if i have to retake it again at bcc, i just refuse to retake it at keiser:crying2:

ps, i still have 2 more tests and a final to worry about. this could make me or break me.

Oh man that stinks that you are in a difficult situation.

You can also take the HCC class at MDC and transfer it over at BC. That's what I did with mine. That class is extremely easy, so any teacher you take will be good.

I wish you the best, study harder and practice nclex-rn question books and ask your other classmates who are doing well what they are studying to do well... that's what I did and I learned a few tips from others.

ok now to register for HCC, you first have to be a bcc student, so the best thing to do that, is go to BC central in person and apply, so there you will get your acceptace letter, and student number that same day that you apply. Then when you look for open classes on the bc website, look for an opening of the class *duh*, and register for the course.

but the class is very easy and simple, and since now you have been in nursing school it will be a lot more simpler for you.

best and best of luck.

I am sorry for your situation. I wish I could help you!!!

Well listen, at keiser they give us mynursing lab to test, some people think that that online assistance is a pain in the neck. Well I used it and covered all my content (we have the same sylabus, if not really close to it).

I can help you if you want, if you are not understanding a subject or anything like that...

again my strategy for that class was to go to my nursing lab, review all my videos, do ALL the tests, really if you take about 2-3 hours per day you can get alot of those nclex like questions done, and believe me or not they are great!!! if you go to any NCLEX book you will see questions really close to it.

The books that we are using as well as mynursinglab is from Pearson, (the same people from the NCLEX) so you know that what they are giving you is good...

anyways, let me know if there is any subject or any concepts that you do not understand, focus on your school work, study hard, like I said for my nursing lab questions alone I studied for 2-3 hours since at first i could not "critically think" but that grows on you...

:-) best luck
