Nurses Career Support

Published

Hello all. I'm new to this site and I thought that this would be a great place to seek advice! I'm active duty navy(5 years) and i'm not happy with my career choice. I haven't been for the last 4 years. I've always wanted to help people and have had the desire to be a nurse for the last 3 years, but only now am I starting to pursue this passion. I know that there are all types of officer programs out there to become a nurse in the navy, but I'm not 100% sure if I want to be a navy nurse. The only thing I'm 100% sure about is that I want to be a nurse and I dont want to be enlisted anymore! I know that a nursing degree isn't one that can really be pursued while on active duty(enlisted), because my work schedule isn't flexible like that and when it's time to go to sea, it's time to go to sea. I only have a year left and I feel like the right thing to do would be to get out and go school full time for my BSN. But with that being said money becomes an issue(i got my gi bill. but i mean in terms of income). Or i could just apply for MECP hope I get in and suck it up in the navy for 8 more years. Any sugestions? Anyone?:banghead:
