Hi,
I'm trying to apply for this program and was wondering if there are student who commute... i.e. lives in the suburb and drive or take the train to go to class.... Is it doable? or should I live on campus?

Well, I can't speak on behalf of GEM students but I work and go to school at rush (PedsCNS).
I live downtown. Rush doesn't have much for "on-campus" housing. For the price you pay for their housing you can live off campus but close to campus in a much better apt.
Where would your commute be from?
If you are close to the lines, it's not bad!
Hey! Thanks for your reply...
I live all the way in naperville. So I can either drive or take the Metra train. How's parking for students?
There is parking for students and staff at rush. I believe it's $7.00/day. If you take the metra, you can do an easy transfer to pink line or blue line and get to Rush too.
There is a way to get a parking "transponder" for monthly $$ and I THINK it's $86/month. That is the employee price. I just take the bus, so that monthly rate may be higher now.

I think communiting is doable as I will be trying to do it from downers grove (same BNSF train line as naperville) . Just got my packet that mentions there is a bus that would be going from union to rush for only $1.5 which is cheaper that CTA ($1.75) The only thing that would be of inquiry would be that of off-site clinicals....Hmmm. anyone have insight to those or all the clinicals at rush?
