I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on pda's for the nursing program if they are helpful or not or if the ipod touch would be a better alternative. I heard that the nursing constellations program is helful for the nursing program at macomb. I used to have a pda/phone but i am thinking that it wouldn't work in a hospital setting because you are not supposed to have your phone on you. if i am wrong about this please let me know. i have been looking into just a pda but some opinions are that they are going by the way side and that the itouch is a great alternative. If anyone who has been through this already and has tips/advice it would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Have a great day :)

People either love or hate PDAs. I have one, and I love it. It is tiny and in my pocket at all times, unlike the people who keep their drug book away in the lounge. I also have the Tabers medical encylcopedia on it, which is a great resource and not another heavy book. People are always asking me to look things up on it.
Mine is just a PDA and not a phone. I like it becuase then I am not tempted to text or anything when I shouldn't be, although I am guitly of checking my email at the hospitals that have Wifi. I'm not sure about smartphone capabilities, but I also make Excel sheets of all my drug sheets and keep it on my PDA which can come in really handy.
I have seen people who use their phones, and haven't seen a problem with it other than extremely small screens in some cases. Really the i touch is exactly the same thing as the PDA- just an Apple Brand product with fun applications. They both have wifi, music, email, games, media, etc. It is definitly a great excuse to buy an itouch if you want one!
The Skyscape nursing constellation gives you everything you need and more. I got the $89 one then purchased Tabers separetly, some buy the more expensive one which includes it. Basically all just need a drug book and lab software to get by. You can even buy Carpenito for it if you want though!
Thank you for the info, I think I will try the itouch :)

That is good to know. I already have an itouch so that solves one issue for me.
