I am an adult psych cns with 10 years experience. I was eligible to take either the adult psych NP or adult psych CNS exam at the time of my graduation per ANCC rules. I called the ANCC, despite what it says on their site they are willing to let me register for the Adult psych NP exam which will be retired at the end of the year. At the time I graduated, only advanced psychopharm was required to take the adult NP psych exam. Now for the same exam (no change) they want regular advanced pharm to take the exam. Given my experience and the test requirement at the time of my graduation I'm hoping the ANCC will waive this and allow me to take the exam. Has anyone else had experience doing this and did anyone have any problems? Also if I do need to take an advanced regular pharmacology course does anyone know any accredited self paced ones I could finish quickly in time to meet the deadline of sitting for the exam before the end of the year? Thanks.
Thanks.

This isn't what you were asking but please don't attempt to shorten our already dismally inadequate pharm education especially if its been a while since you actually had any formal pharm courses.

Study Pharm a lot-and let us know how taking this exam works for you going forward. Appreciate you sharing the information. I am a adult psych CNS and can practice as a psych APRN in several states but would like to keep options open.
