CUNY York College Generic Nursing 2016

I just wanted to start a thread for CUNY York College Generic Nursing 2016 applicants. I applied and I'm hoping to hear from others who applied as well. I would also appreciate any current York College nursing students' comments about the program and/or their NLN scores/GPA upon admission. I know we won't hear a decision until June, but I thought I'd start this thread for any questions/support. Good luck to everyone who applied!

They don’t send out acceptance letters until the end of June so check in around then and I’ll let you know!

I truly hope you get in ! Can you share NLN tips or how to study. Should I take it even if I didn’t take AP 2 yet?

So I applied around March? And this is my second time trying to apply, Gpa and nln is avg. As of last Friday the 15th? Two of my colleagues got it, was wondering if they all sent it at once or more to come? The wait is killing me.

Hi. I received the acceptance letter the 15th, too. You should call to find out for sure if you were accepted or not. You never know if there was a mistake with the address or UPS. Best of luck!

Hi I heard they are sending it out by ABC order of last name. Do you mi d me asking what your last name begin with? I’m also waiting

They sent out all on Thursday. I had called them on Friday to ask them and they said everyone should be receiving them Friday but if not, Saturday and Monday cause they overnight shipped it so It shouldn’t take longer than that.

Hi sorry just saw this. I read the nln book and studied it word for word and did all the questions. I also did the questions from the online test banks that they have. I don’t think you should take it before You take you AP 2 because there’s A&P questions from that class and you won’t fully understand them if you take the test before taking AP2

Hello everyone,

I started this thread 3 years ago and have since graduated from York’s nursing program as part of Cohort 6. York’s program is great and my class had a 100% pass rate for the NCLEX. I know it all seems very overwhelming at first, but you guys will get used to it and it will be over before you know it. There will be a lot of struggles in between and times where it feels impossible, but that’s just the nature of nursing school. Remember you are not alone. Learn to support one another and don’t forget that your class is a team. I wish you all the best of luck!

If it was all sent last Thursday and the rest by Friday, still nothing in mail and today is Wednesday, I have a heavy feeling I wasn't accepted again. Only thing I can do is try to contact and confirm it...
