I just wanted to start a thread for CUNY York College Generic Nursing 2016 applicants. I applied and I'm hoping to hear from others who applied as well. I would also appreciate any current York College nursing students' comments about the program and/or their NLN scores/GPA upon admission. I know we won't hear a decision until June, but I thought I'd start this thread for any questions/support. Good luck to everyone who applied!
thank you!!No, I wasn't able to go to orientation, which is why I haven't been able to discuss taking the semester off with anyone. But I will go into the office this week.
They sent out acceptance letters 3 days before the orientation was scheduled and I wasn't in NY the day of orientation.
Oh! Definitely get in contact with them asap. There's so much to get done in under a month. We're all stressed lol.
I agree it is a lot to get done. I'm still trying to get my SPARC training done. My certificate won't show even though I've done it a couple of times already. I got my BCLS certification last year because I knew I would need it. I just need to do the castlebranch thing.
I had to do the SPARC thing like 10 times before I could get it to print. I had to use chrome on a computer, let every slide play through, and clicked every single possible link. Start from the beginning and try again. And make sure you do every quiz!
As for Castlebranch, I have the drug test done. Labcorp is pretty efficient. Most of us aren't doing the CPR training until after next week.
Have you order the uniform yet? I takes awhile I've heard. I'd order it now. They said the shirt runs big.
I haven't ordered yet. I will get on that as soon as I figure out what will happen if I take a semester off.. I don't want to buy it for nothing. Fingers crossed though. BTW I tried to respond to your private message but it doesn't allow me to use message. Something about me being a new user. I am in the group, my friend that attended orientation had me added.
Hi everyone,
Today I took the NLN Pax exam and here are my results: Verbal 53%, Math 75%, and Science 62% which shows percentile rank verbal 49, math 63, and science 78. Composite Score 114 and Rn percentile rank 66.
I just want to know if my scores are okay to apply for the nursing program. Please let me know. I am worried about the verbal part. Thank you

Hi I just took the NLN and my score and GPA are:
Composite: 149
Percentile: 99%ile
GPA (5 key courses): 3.69
Do you think I have a chance of getting in? I’ve also applied to Molloy as a backup plan but I really want to get into York’s program. From your experience and your classmates’, do you think my GPA and exam score is good enough?

I got accepted for the upcoming semester but I just found out that I'm expecting. I'd prefer to not take time off but my due date is two week into the spring semester. Hopefully they don't give me a problem because I'm excited to start
Hello, would you mind sharing your process with the application and maybe your grades (only if you feel comfortable doing so) I would appreciate it.
