CUNY Hunter Accelerated Pathway Fall 2012

U.S.A. New York

Hey,

Anyone out there applying for Hunter A2DP for Fall 2012? I am and I'm nervous!

Oh wow! That's amazing!! That just set the bar really high for everyone else. Congrats :yelclap:

Hey everyone! I applied for the Hunter program but I haven't taken the test yet. Is it similar to the review book or more difficult?

Do they have interviews for the under graduate accelerated program?

I already got accepted into the Stony Brook program but I live in Brooklyn and would prefer to stay in the city.

Hey Agrib,

I had applied to both Hunter and Stony Brook as well. I actually just wrote to you on the Stony Brook thread telling you about the facebook group.

I took the NLN a couple of weeks ago. I studied almost entirely from the review book and looked up a little on the chem and physics I didn't know. The review book doesn't go into that much depth in my opinion. I didn't study much for bio and anatomy since I teach both classes as a high school teacher. If you want to do really well I'd say look up anything you find in the book that you don't understand well. I think the most helpful portion of the book is the math section. If you know how to do all of the practice questions, you should be fine. The time goes very quickly (at least I felt it did). I didn't have much time to go back and check my work. So make sure you go quickly, but not too quickly that you make mistakes. I think the English portion is impossible to study for. The reading passages were similar to the book and as for the vocab - you either know it or don't know it.

I decided upon Stony Brook since the program is shorter and the time frame works out better for me since I'll start Stony Brook as soon as I am done with teaching. I also live in Brooklyn and moving to the middle of Long Island sort of freaks me out, but I think it's the better choice for me. I did the nursing CAS for Hunter, but never did the transfer app so there's no option for Hunter anymore. Good luck with everything!

Hello everyone!

I'm also applying to Hunter's fall 2012 Accelerated Nursing Program. I talked with the undergraduate nursing adviser and she said they will only accept 20 people this year :(.

She also said for last year, they accepted students who had a 3.6gpa on average and you need at least a 150-155 on the pre-nln exam to be considered for the accelerated program.

I took the exam today and received a score of 152 and I have a 3.5 gpa. I'm feeling so nervous because there are such limited seats. It feels like such a long wait until April/ May. Good luck to everyone who applied this year!

Thank God!! I received an email this morning with my acceptance to the accelerated nursing program! Did anyone else hear anything?
