Cumberland University Mt. Juliet campus - adult night & weekends

U.S.A. Tennessee

Hello,

If anyone has any questions about this program, please feel free to ask me. I'm finishing the 4th semester out of the 5, so I have an understanding of the program. Whether its a "big" or "small" question, ask away, and I'll do my best to answer.

This program is relatively new compared to other nursing programs, so there just simply isn't a lot of information online about it. When I was researching BSN schools, I was a little frustrated due to the lack of info. I just want to be a resource for anyone in a similar position. Please feel free to ask me any questions in the thread or through PM. It would probably be best to ask in the thread, so others can see. Thanks

I made that note during orientation while talking to someone.

Going off of the course offering list it looks like 15-16 people.

Congratulations again on your acceptance, ladies. Once you start the program, would you mind updating me on what days you are in class/labs, as well as how heavy the course load is? I am nervous about continuing to work full time while attending the program and I would love to hear your opinion.

Thanks again and best of luck!

One last thing. . . Are your labs on the MJ Campus or are you having to drive to Lebanon?

Thanks.

@Journey2Nursing1 Can you give me an update about this semester? If I read correctly, classes are Mon-Wed with a lab on Thursdays and another on Saturday. Is the Saturday lab in the AM or PM? Are you allowed to choose what time you attend?

Also, course load. .Do you find it unbearable for a full time employee? I know that it will be heavy, but is it more easily managed since the program is spread out?

I'm going to make a separate discussion expalining first semester at some point because it was kind of frustrating walking in blind. To answer your questions though, for first semester we were in class Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday(lab) and Saturday(lab). Some people really struggled with balancing work, school and family. I thought it was do able and came out with an A, 2 B's and an 81.4 which is technically a C(I'm still bitter about it.) We had to drive to Lebanon on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

Also, rgarding Saturday lab times...they originally had us split into two groups, one being 7am-1pm and the other 2pm-8pm. No one got to pick which class they were in. I think they pick for you throughout the program. They instructors ended up changing it to both groups being in the morning. My class didn't want to be there at 7 so we asked our lab instructor (Mrs. Riddle) if we could do 8am-2pm instead. There were a couple weeks that we had to stay a little later because check offs took longer than expected.
