CU Denver 2020 Traditional Program

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello!

I hadn't seen a post from anyone about applying to the June 2020 start so I figured I'd make one! I submitted my application back in September and just received notification that it was verified and eligible for review. They stated that they plan to get back to everyone no later than Monday, December 16th.

I just wanted to link up with some other people in the same boat! I have a Bachelor's degree from CU Denver in Communication, and am now going back to get a BSN. I spent the last couple years getting my science prerequisites, and got a 4.0 in all of those! I kind of screwed up my first couple years of college way back when, so my cumulative is only like a 3.2 including my previous Bachelor's (graduated with a 3.0), but my last 9 or 10 semesters (including summers and prereqs) come out to almost a 4.0 (one A- in there). I have my CNA certification and worked as a CNA for about 6 months as well.

I'm so anxious to hear back!! I almost didn't apply because I thought CU was too competitive, but I just went for it. My backup plan is MSU Denver accelerated. I think I have a decent chance of getting called for an interview, but after that it's anyone's game!

I'd love to hear from others who are applying, or who have applied in the past/gone to CU Denver!

Good luck to everyone!

I felt pretty good about it! I was in the first interview session which was kind of nice because I got it over with right away. I thought the interview process went really well, I had a great group. The student panel was a little intimidating, just hearing their stories about night clinicals and crazy schedules! I have kids, so it made me think about how I'll manage that, but I'll have to make it work! It's going to be a long 5 weeks!

Hello Everyone!

My interview for CU Denver is on the 17th. Does anyone have any recommendations or tips? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It is pretty low-pressure. Prepare to stay late. Relax and just be yourself. They give a lot of information about the program. I brought a pen and notebook and I am glad I did. Prepare questions you would like to ask current students. Best of luck!

Agree, it's much less intimidating than I had anticipated. Not like a job interview! Just be yourself and definitely bring a pen. I forgot one and wished I had one! It was an enjoyable experience but definitely a long day!

Did anyone else get an email about a follow up for interview day? Swear, my heart stopped a little when I saw the subject line! lol

Yes! Are they trying to mess with us?

Yup, I got it too! Pretty sure they sent it to everyone but my heart about stopped too! I’m already checking my email about 100x a day despite knowing that I won’t hear anything for 3 more weeks ?

Same. I am actually "cleaning up my emails" very frequently.

Hello everyone, I was part of the first interview group and received the feedback email. I’m currently in the U.S Airforce and I am very excited to hear back in a couple weeks! I hope most of the interviewed get accepted! Are there any other veterans here?

I'm not in the military, but there was a guy in my interview group that was in the Air Force! Good luck!

I'm basically counting down the days now. It's all I can think about!

Were we in the same interview group? :o

Maybe! I was in the first session of the day on 1/10.
