Unfortunately, no. You can get an extra point if you were in the military, but other than that, it's just grades. I heard that the program is planning to change the admission process since they had a new director last year, but IDK what the change entails or when it will be effective.

Hi Everyone!
I'm a pre-nursing student looking to apply to transfer to CSULB for Spring 2024. The nursing website says they need all 8 prerequisites to be completed prior to application, however I plan to finish the chemistry requirement this coming Fall semester.
I have all of my other prerequisites completed and meet all of the other admission requirements, so chemistry is my last requirement.
Will they still consider my application with this in-progress? Any advice or help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you! ?

Hey! I'm gonna say no because the website (https://www.csulb.edu/college-of-health-human-services/school-of-nursing/undergraduate-BSN-faq-and-application) says "There are four natural science (Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, and Microbiology) prerequisite courses to be completed prior to application." so it seems like you'll have to wait until the next cycle to apply : ( You should email them at [email protected] to make sure though!
You'll have to wait to apply for fall 2024 because all prerequisite courses that are in progress will be consider as a C grade.

I did email them just in case and am waiting on a reply back. I could've sworn they allowed one prereq in progress in previous cycles, but they must have changed their policy : (

To clarify, can I still apply for Fall 2024? Or do I have to wait until next year entirely to apply? Sorry, if that's confusing LOL.

U can apply for fall 2024 since you'll be done with your prereqs at the end of fall 2023. You'll have like a gap semester in Spring 2024. You get 2 tries to apply to the program tho.

That's a really good TEAS score! I have a few questions if you don't mind. What did you use to study for your TEAS? Did you take the TEAS online or in person? Also, what kind of chemistry class did you take? Was it a general chemistry class or did you take organic chemistry too?

I used the comprehensive study package from ATI. I went through all of the SmartPrep, made notes on everything I didn't know. I didn't use the book it came with. I had the Mometrix book but I found it too dense and hard to learn from. Only used it for practice tests. I didn't study Science much tbh, it's very random too so I'd say my college classes helped most there. I used TutorGeeks Biology and Chemistry review on YouTube though. I've heard Science with Susanna and Professor Yu on YT are also great for Science. I also used Smart Edtions online course, did everything besides their science section. Brandon crafts goals and objectives videos are great on YT, went through all of them. Also used the ATI Prep app you get with the package, decently helpful. Also did the official ATI Practice test A and B and those were very helpful, felt really similar to the real test but a little harder because the real test is all multiple choice (it shouldn't be but everyone and myself have never gotten those other question types)
Does the nursing supplemental application from the SON show up for anyone yet. It said it's supposed to be open on august 1st
