U.S.A. California

Hi!

I think the CSULB School of nursing recently post new pool statistics including those who were chosen for Fall 2011.

Knowing that the rating average is 8.91/10, that seems like a huge difference than the previous semesters!

Anyone else planning to apply to CSULB Fall 2012 BSN program?

I don't know why I can't edit my post, sorry for triple posting. I don't need answers to my questions anymore, Thanks guys. :)

Do we choose "WBT for Nursing Students" for the EPIC Training? Not sure if there was a specific one for LBMMC because my screen is different than the one on the instructions after logging in and completing the HIPAA exam. And for those taking summer classes, are we supposed to get 1 or 2 transcripts (1 for admissions, 1 for the school of nursing)? Is there a deadline to give them the transcripts? Thanks

2 transcripts; one for admissions and 2 for the nx department. I wasn't told a deadline for them but I'd turn them in as soon as possible.

Quick question. right now im going to a community college doing my gen ed. I want to transfer to either csulb or csusb for either the RN or BSN program. Could you tell me what the pre reqs are for both. and which one will be harder to get into.

I think the pre-reqs are the same at both schools. I'm not sure which is harder to get into, but at CSULB there were more than 1,700 applicants for the nursing program and less than 90 were accepted. At orientation I was told that 21,000 students applied for the university and only 4,000 were accepted. You must be accepted into the nursing program and the university.

Not sure what your grade are like, but you must have at least a 3.0 GPA to apply. I think it's pretty deceiving because you will probably need straight A's in your sciences and the golden 4: speech, English, critical thinking, math (stats) to be competitive. You may be able to get by with 1 or 2 B's, but you will need to score high on your TEAS.

I recommend that you set up an appointment with a transfer "nursing" counselor at your CC. Attached below are links for both schools. Good Luck, feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

I got your PM. For some reason my messages are not going through. Maybe I reached the limit of PM I can send on a free membership. How would you like me to contact you to reply your message?

Hey guys,

Anyone starting the CSULB nursing program (both semester and trimester), we now have a facebook page! Please join so we can help each other out this upcoming semester :)

Look for CSULB Nursing - Fall 2012

P.S. If you are having trouble accessing the group then feel free to PM me or wait until we start school and I'm sure you won't have trouble being added. It would be awesome for this group to include everyone starting the nursing program in Fall 2012.

for WBT do we choose the one with wbt AND exam? How long did this take? How was the exam? and what do we do with the badge form that was included in that email?

Hi, I'm currently in third semester trimester student.

Choose WBT for nursing students. There is an exam at the end which will cover a bit of everything, but you can take it as many times as you want. Yes the modules take a long time, I would say about over 5 hours to complete. I honestly did not learn that much and most of the learning was working hands on with the epic system instead of these modules. The trick is, to click the modules and hit the back button as soon as the slide show starts. You will still get credit for viewing the module and you can start on the next one. It does leave a time stamp of when you viewed it, so doing this might make it seem a bit suspicious but no one has said a word to me. Also, make sure to complete any "upgrades" as those are required too. As far as the badge form goes, just fill it out and take it to the security office on the ground floor in front of the cafeteria. There, theyll take your picture and give you your badge.

Congrats to everyone who made it! Enjoy, it's a tough program, but very rewarding if you put your mind to it! If you have any questions just feel free to ask!

Ok great! Thanks Kevin! So I guess tht means we need to have our badges ready for the first day? Also, has anyone bought the NEW nursing box of books? I was told they currently only have the old boxes available...

I was at the bookstore yesterday buying the nursing patches and they said they MIGHT have the books sometime next week. Considering the fact we start class next week I was really annoyed that they still haven't gotten any of the new boxes... Not to mention the fact I've been calling every day since last week and they keep telling me the box should be there in 2 days:banghead:
