Hi all,
I saw the thread for the BSN Basic program, and wanted to start this one. I'm taking the TEAS on 12/20 for the first time (eek!) because I had to take the GREs for my other apps. I saw that the BSN Basic program has a point system. Does the ABSN program have that too? And do we need to sent in verification of volunteer hours too?
Did you speak to the program director when you interviewed? That information is incorrect. Our current syllabi all state a C and above is required for passing each class, while a B average 3.0 overall GPA is required.Unless they are changing it for your cohort.
Nevermind, your information is correct. 3.0 overall GPA!
Just to CLARIFY and help you all when you're making a decision on a program down the road: you are "guaranteed" a spot in the MSN portion of this program as long as you pass that NCLEX within a reasonable amount of time and have an overall 3.0 GPA but you are NOT guaranteed your top choice. You DO HAVE TO APPLY for the concentration (FNP, ACNP, etc.) and MAY get your second choice (based on GPA, personal statement, and LOC --due first week of March).
ALSO: full time job + ABSN = no life. But that may be better than getting more money out in loans?? I personally decided my sanity and having AT LEAST A LITTLE BIT OF FUN during my mid twenties is worth more to me ... the loans will eventually get paid off. RIGHT? >.
@snailszy ... I don't know if the classes are necessarily harder or not (LS classes killed me at UCLA) or if it's just the fact that I have learned my study habits, care more about my education now that I'm not 19 (this is probably the biggest factor lol), etc. I got a lot of Bs and Cs at UCLA for those hard sciences and haven't gotten a single B in this program. I have to study A LOT and work hard though! ... definitely not the "college life" I once had... nostalgia... haha
I feel like I'm the only one who sent one set of transcripts. Ugh! Now I'm paying $$$ to have rush transcripts sent to the office. Oh, well. For anyone who has a prereq in progress, did KH tell you when/how to submit a final transcript once your class is completed?
I have one in progress. No I don't recall her telling me. I'm sure it's not really worth mentioning until we are accepted. I'm sure she'll let us know if once we do get accepted.
KH just told me to submit 2 transcripts as soon as the course was completed and a grade was received. Also, she said to mail them to the same address we sent all of our other paperwork to. I emailed her on Monday to ask her if she wanted an unoffical transcript, while the official transcript was being mailed, but she hasn't responded. It makes me think that I've been denied and she doesn't want me to waste time and money sending out unofficial and official transcripts. :/
If the schedule is the same as last year - you should be hearing very soon! If I recall correctly - we heard the Monday of spring break. Please know - this week is finals week, so the program coordinator is likely tying up her current classes and grades, then she will be all about the new cohort! So excited for you all!

I received an email update earlier this week saying that they are still reviewing applications so I am taking this as good news
Also, someone last year wrote that they were invited to interview 3 weeks after the first interview was granted. If interviews started early March or late Feb, we still have a chance!
