CSU Stanislaus Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys,

i just wanted to know if anyone has applied to CSU Stanislaus nursing program for the fall of 2017? If anyone did, what are your statistics? I applied but my teas score is not that good which scares me a lot. I also have no healthcare experience whatsoever. I called them a couple of times and they said they will let everyone know by mid April. Anyway it would be much appreciated if anyone shared their stats.

Thank you and good luck to everyone

So those 9 units must be on campus, or can it be online too?

Yea, 9 units taken the semester before or applying or the current semester.

Hi guys. I got on the waitlist as #9, I received my letter through mail. What do you guys think is my chance of getting in? I am so nervous and I know that not all people who got in will accept, so if there is anyone who is willing to tell me if they are declining the offer, please let me know. I am a stressed out mess at the moment haha

You have a better chance than me lol. #9 is a good spot. You have about 4 months until classes start next semester. that is alot of time, a few people will drop by then. I also think that if students drop within the first week of the nursing program than, they grab who is next on the waitlist.

Also, what was your application score?

Seviny- don't want to get your hopes up but you are in a really good spot. I'm currently in the program and personally know people who got in on the waitlist as #18 and 15..They have called people the night before the first day so don't be too discouraged yet :)

I believe I was around 80-90 points. I was a little unsure of my science GPA since I am in progress with Microbiology. I have a 3.67 overall GPA, I got a 76.7% on TEAS, I got an A in anatomy and physio and B in biochem and have a 4.0 GPA in non-sciences. I also live in the Stanislaus county, go to stan, bilingual and have health care experience, so I'm kind of mixed with where my points really came from lol Hopefully we will both make it! I actually went to the nursing office to ask about my chances and they said it all depends. Sometimes they have gone down the waitlist to like #60 or more and sometimes just alternate #1.

I really hope that is the case for me! I am just so anxious, like my phone is constantly on me now. Any advice on how to not think about it too much?? I have also applied to Sac and might apply to MJC, but my #1 choice is Stan.

Well if I was in your position i would be anxious 24/7. You would have no idea if you might get accepted or not. At least you have a chance. Just finish micro strong. Good luck on your Journey

Hello All. I'm looking for some feedback on applying to the ABSN program at CSU Stan. I hope you can help.

CSU Stan is by far my first choice, but I worry the admission cards are stacked against me. I am not a graduate of a CSU school system (My undergrad is currently from out of state.) Also, I'm currently not living in one of schools county districts. If I was lucky enough to get in, I planned on driving the long commute or relocating closer to the area.

I've just stared my prerequisites, so obviously I have a long ways to go. Do you recommend that I still apply, or should I set my sights on other ABSN programs?

Thank you!

I would apply anyway regardless of where you live because other programs are just as impacted as this one. In terms of the admission cards being stacked against you, it really all depends on how high your GPA is compared to those who are stan state students/living locally because this school is based off of a point system, which means that you can get points for practically everything, BUT GPA and TEAS is what really gives you the high points. You should look up CSU Stanislaus nursing application and it should list how much each GPA, TEAS score is worth how many so points. We also get points for living in the Stanislaus county, being a stan state student, having work experience, being bilingual, etc... Just focus on your prerequisites, don't overwhelm yourself with as many units as possible. It's all about doing really well, even if that means taking is slow. Good luck girl!

thanks for the confidence boost. i'm going to apply anyway and focus on everything i have control over - getting the best possible grades in my prerequisites and scoring as high as I can on the TEAS.

i also plan on attending an informational session this summer so i can get more info.

lastly, do you happen to know if there is a 'shelf life' on the prereqs? i.e. - 7 years? 5 years? If so does it apply to all the prerequisites or just the sciences?

thanks again!

Hi! This post is a little old but I was curious if you are trying for ASBSN cohort 7? I applied! And to answer your question...no shelf life on prereqs.
