CSU Stanislaus ASBSN 2013

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone!

Anyone applying to CSUStan's ASBSN program for Fall 2013???

I'm from Stockton. Grew up here. I'm not sure what the issue is? Stockton definitely has its sketchy parts if that's what you're worried about. There are definitely places not to go. But there are some good parts too. It's pretty easy to stay in a safe bubble. It's also super cheap compared to the Bay Area or LA. Just make sure that you live in NW or around UOP. Ask me if you want any details. I got in the program, yay. I'll be living rent-free with my parents. I figure I'll head south for grad school (SF or LA maybe) once I've worked a bit as an RN around here.

What's the daily/weekly schedule like? Is it reasonable to work at all?

I highly doubt anyone should try to maintain a job while in an accelerated program... Im quitting my job in October!

I finally got my admission letter!! I was begining to think I made the whole thing up in my head! So So excited! See you all on Oct 23rd :)

Congratulations.. and yes, see you on October 23rd! Ahhhh!

Hi ladies,

Just a little insight, Stockton is not that bad! It has its bad areas just like any other towns, but it's seriously fine. Just take normal precautions, as you probably already do. Congrats on your acceptance, by the way.

I am planning on applying for the 2014 admission cycle, do any of you ladies mind sharing your stats? This is my first choice! :)

Good luck to you all

Who has sent their letter of intent?

I did! I went to check out the campus too, it made me more excited. Have you gotten a medical terminology book yet?

Oooh, how was the campus? Yeah, I've had one for a while now, but will have to really study on it before school starts. I'm so excited/nervous. Anyone know how many students are in the cohort? And should we start a Facebook page like the other cohorts have done so in the past?

Yes we should totally start that!! I think there will be 30 of us? Campus is small but cute and safer feeling than the surrounding area. Our cohort will definitely become a tight knit group! the buildings used to be a mental hospital and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was filmed there. Very interesting but really cool!

How competitive is this school, in your opinion. I'm looking to apply the next cycle and was looking over the point system that the school uses. For those of you who got accepted, how many points did you have?

I dont think too many people know about this program and therefore dont apply, making it less competitive than other state schools extended learning programs like sac states. Go for it!
