CSU Stanislaus ASBSN 2013

Published

Hi everyone!

Anyone applying to CSUStan's ASBSN program for Fall 2013???

I visited stockton for the first time today. The northwest (or northeast?) area looked like it is a nice area to live. The rest was a little scary. I also drove around the school and it looked...abandoned and totally empty. The area where csu stan is located wasn't so nice either. Kinda disappointed...

Hey everyone! I got a call on Saturday and am accepting! My friend is in the program now and loves it and its only 16 months you would have to live there. I will be commuting for a while at least in the beginning from the East Bay. Anyone live near the East bay, we could carpool?

Why only 16 months?

How was the actual school though? It seems like it's just a building right? Also, does anyone know where we'd be doing our clinicals at?

Hi there! I was actually in this program! To answer some of your questions..I commuted from the east bay (about 50 miles), and I found it to not be a big deal. Others commuted from Sac, turlock, etc. We did clinicals at St. Joseph's and Children's hospital in Madera, CA. The building the classes are in is the extension of the CSU campus, which is why it looks so empty. It was a great program with wonderful faculty!

Whoops i meant 18 months! sorry!

Hi, thanks so much for your insight! I hope you don't mind me contacting you directly if i have any further questions about the school and/or the program! Thank you!

3shaaa, feel free to contact me! I'd be happy to provide whatever information I can!

I live in Atwater and will be commuting. I have heard the faculty is great and while the location is not ideal, the campus itself is very safe. They have a security guard on foot at all times while students are there and 1 driving around. A lot of sheriffs and Stockton police spend their breaks there and the K9 police bring their dogs there. I looked into amtrak and even though it is less than a mile from the school, the neighborhoods you would have to walk are not very safe looking, so I will be driving everyday.

Let me know if any of you accepted into the program are looking for a roommate! I'll be moving from socal and it would be nice to share a house/apartment with fellow students. I've lived in SF before, but have never been to Stockton.

has anyone received their official letter of acceptance in the mail?

I have! Intent to enroll form is due by August 30th.
