CSU Pueblo Nursing Spring 2020

Published

Hey All! I applied to the CSU Pueblo BSN program for Spring 2020. Any other hopeful nurses out there who applied as well?

I heard from a coworker only about 30 something spots are available. But I'm not 100 percent sure.

Hm, it should be more than that. PPCC accepts 50 ppl each semester and they are just a community college. CSU only does one application a year, so 30 seems really low.

Agreed. I didn't think about that.

I’ll update y’all when I get my letter!

Same. And good luck!

I'm right there with you guys. I really did not want to take the TEAS. Just gave it a try to see if I'll pass or not. I do suck at Math too ?

It's nice that CSU doesn't require an entrance exam or an interview but I'm wondering what they base their criteria on in accepting/rejecting applicants. GPA? It'll be nice to just get accepted and not have to worry about taking admission tests. Do you guys live close to the school?

Yup, I read that Patho is a difficult course. Did you take it in-class or online?

I was trying to find information about their criteria as well but not much is shown on their website or on here. For example are they more worried about the science classes than foreign language grades etc?

I live by Fort Carson, so the drive is really not that bad for me. How about for you?

I had to take my through CCCO online (through PPCC) because that’s the only way I could fit it in. It was more research based opposed to tests but you have to research evvverything and there wasnt a book supplied. So we have to find our own resources.

I did my Patho course through PPCC online as well. My course had a textbook though. A huge expensive one. Lol

I also live by Fort Carson.

So I called the nursing dept because it seemed weird we hadn't heard anything at all yet. Peggy said she is behind on the applications due to being off for a week for a family emergency. She said it will be another few weeks before we hear anything. ??

I read a post here from an ABSN student but the post was from 2010. Not sure if a lot has changed since then. She mentioned that CSU-P's admission criteria is just a pre-req GPA. They start at 4.0 then work their way down.

Thanks for the input guys! Patho is a pretty important nursing course. I am taking it online as well. I'd prefer to have a book. But I don't mind doing my own research ?

I live in Aurora so me and my family might have to move to Springs if ever I get accepted. Drive from here to Pueblo is like 2 hours.

Oh geez. We'd probably hear from them by the end of this month. Hoping it would be sooner though. Is she in charge of the nursing applications? Also, do you know if they place applicants on a waitlist?

Yeah they do a waitlist, which is a plus! Uggh sucks we have to wait longer!!! I wished they would’ve gave an update and not let us think we would hear something on 15th because I told everyone that it’d be today. They are gonna get a lot of wondering calls.
