Hello! I've just sent in my acceptance from for this program, and am excited and totally nervous to begin in May 2019! I'm moving from Durango. I would love to connect with some future classmates!
Hello,
I am applying to CSU-P ABSN program soon for Summer 2021. My mom went to this school for nursing when she was my age and I really hope I get in! Due to corona it has been so hard to get a hold of anyone and ask questions about the program. When you all sent in your applications, do they just go based off your grades first and then set up interviews to get to know the candidates? I have been asking this question and never getting a response back and I just want to know what to expect. Also did any of you all send in your resume with your application too so they can see your work experience or would you advise against this?
I would appreciate any insight, thanks!

There are no interviews. We have no idea what they base it on honestly. Sending in extra info is pointless, it’s a systemic process that I do know. I would just submit your application by the due date and cross your fingers. I just graduated but my best friend is in the traditional program and it’s just so insanely hectic I wouldn’t think they have time to answer questions.
Thank you so much! They are super busy and they have been great about letting me know things are not going great with the system especially due to corona and that replies would be delayed. I completely understand why but just is really confusing and makes me anxious about making sure I have everything in order before I apply here in October!
Thank you again for your fast replies!

I worked 1-2 days a week during Summer semester, but in my opinion, Fall was way too busy to work. During Fall you're taking 3 core classes with clinicals: Peds, OB, and Med Surg I. I have been able to work 1 day a week now in the Spring, but have heard that the last semester may be too busy.
That being said, there ARE students who have worked the whole way through. As dogmom mentioned, your job definitely has to be flexible, and I wouldn't recommend more than 1-2 days a week in general. Good luck!
