CSU Fresno Nursing Program Fall 2017

Published

Hello everyone,

I applied to the nursing program for CSU Fresno for Fall 2017 and I wanted to know if anyone out there also applied to the program. Has anyone received their denial/acceptance letter or email? So far I an email saying that I completed Phase 1 of the nursing program and I am in Phase 2 of the nursing program process. It said that it consists of an in-person writing prompt and I have an appointment for it. I have never heard of Fresno State doing a Phase 1 or Phase 2 admissions process, so I am confused about this. Has anyone else heard about this step or has gotten this email regarding this?

Best of luck to those who applied

Heyy! I am on the same boat as you. I recieved an email yesturday about completing phase 1. I have an appointment next Friday for phase 2, but I am debating if I should go for it or not. I haven't found much about this phases process Fresno is doing. It must be new? Does anyone know the averge GPA and teas accepted into Fresno's program?

Hey cassieloveee,

I have the appointment Friday also but I have no idea what this is all about. I emailed the nursing program admissions and they haven't emailed me back so I have no idea what this is. I believe that this is a new process now and I also heard that they are trying to fix up the program and shorten the length of it from 6 semesters to 5 semesters instead. For the GPA part of it I know that in order to be competitive you have to have to have a 3.75 GPA or higher and for the teas you just have to have passed it with a 75% or higher. This is all new because I have not heard about this I believe they are trying to improve the nursing program.

Hi there,

I have received the same email and have my appointment in one week. Did anyone hear back from the school to see what this phase II is all about? I tried to get some information online but I did not find anything related to the subject.

Wish you all good luck

That sounds about right. I think theyre trying to improve the program. Does this mean they'll be more fexilble with accepting students?

Heyy Condorcln1,

I contacted the nursing program but they haven't replied to my email and I don't know if they will honestly. I looked up information too but nothing was helpful it was all the same and nothing about Phase 2.

Hey cassieloveee,

I have no idea if the admission process will be more flexible I have feeling it is still going to be as hard as it is right now honestly, but I guess we will find out.

Hello,

I am currently in the same boat as all of you regarding Phase II of the application process. It's so weird, I think we're the first batch to do this Phase II so there aren't not much info about it. I am confused though, is it an in person interview AND a writing essay?

The first e-mail it said "Phase 2 will consist of an in-person interview/writing exam"

Then when I got the second e-mail about Phase 2 it says, "Phase 2 of the Nursing Admissions process consist of an in-person writing prompt."

I'm so nervous! But best of luck to everyone else!

Hello all,

It seems like we're all in the same boat. The first email I received mentioned an interview and the second only mentioned the writing prompt. I emailed and I'm hoping for a response, but if not I will call to clarify. I'm just wondering, if there is an interview should we dress accordingly. If not I'm just going casual.

It sucks that this is a new thing and they aren't giving us information on what to expect.

When do you all have to go in for the in person writing exam?

Heyy,

I called the office and they told me that this is the first year that they are doing this process. I asked her what I should wear for the interview and she told me that she didn't think they were having an interview but she wasn't sure but just to dress casually. I also asked about the writing prompt and she told me just to be prepared to write about any random topic they give us. This makes me wonder, when will we actually find out if we made it to the program?

I believe we would find out towards the middle and end of July.
