I can tell you only about my school, CSUEB. There were almost 1000 applicants for 126 spots. I had a 4.0 on my pre-reqs and scored a 93 on the TEAS. At CSUEB volunteer work doesn't count for anything, but PAID work in the health field gets you some points. Also, fluency in a 2nd language helps. I did not have work points nor language points, but got in based on my GPA and TEAS score.

This semester I wanted to switch my major to prenursing. I attend Sacramento State University, the program here is very impacted and basically won't let you in with under a 3.9. I want to finish my nursing pre-reqs and transfer to another CSU, any stats/admittance rates would help! I've done my own research on my own, but I've found this site is the most helpful.
Right now I have a 3.2 nursing prereq GPA but have not done any science courses except for intro Bio, so I can still raise my GPA. My cumulative GPA is 3.4 under the major of bio-chem & I'm about to start volunteering for the UCDavis hospital in Sacramento.
My biggest questions are
1. What CSU is the least impacted/easiest to get into?
2. Would I have to apply to be a transfer, get accepted, then apply to the nursing program at a specific school or does that vary?
3. Would a CNA certification help my chances in getting into a program or should I stick to volunteer work?
