Cross Your Fingers for me!

So I've been a nurse for about 6 & 1/2 months now. I currently work 3rd shift which I absolutely LOVE, however, it just isn't jiving with my home life.

My husband works PMs & we were hoping to find someone reliable to come into our home to care for my son during our overlap time of approx. an hour. No luck! So my poor son has to go to the neighbors, which is really great, they're good with him & he loves it there, couldn't ask for a better deal, but this causes him to be up to 11pm or later whenever I work.

So, I found out there is an opning on 1st shift at my hospital on the same floor. I'm hoping to get this position, but have found out someone else is interested as well. Of course, someone else is interested...it's 1st shift.

So please cross your fingers & hopefully I can give my son a more stable home schedule!!!

Good luck with switching shifts... being a nurse with the crazy hours makes it difficult when you need childcare for your kids... because of my husband's schedule and the hospital's schedule we will need at least an hour of overlap care no matter what shift I work.... My husband usually goes to work at 6 am and gets home by about 5 pm on most days... if there isn't too much traffic.....Anyways let us know if it goes through... fingers crossed:wshgrt:

Good luck eccentricRN, i'm sure you'll get the position. I'm a pre-nursing student and i applied to Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center School of nursing, i took the entrance exam so I'm just waiting for them to call me. Cross your fingers for me too. :wink2:
