Hi I am just taking my first steps into travel nursing. I have contacted CCTC, whom will call me tomorrow to discuss opportunities. I just wanted to get other travel nurses opinions in regards to CCTC, their experiences with the company (good or bad) and maybe some tips on questions that i should want to know being a new travel nurse and what should i expect my company to provide for me.
Also if anyone feels that there is a better company that i should contact, please let me know the name.
I just truly want my first travel experience to be positive and smooth.
Thank you

Hi I have worked with cross country for 9 months. My recruiter is nice, overly talkative and doesn't understand night shift nurse speak at noon or why I don't answer the phone at noon when I worked the night before. The housing has been good they worked with finding a place that took 3 pets. The first hospital was OK and the current one is great. The pay is on time but accurate; however the pay is not necessarily the highest. I have 3 agencies that I work with and cross country has just been able to come up with more jobs.
thank you. i work nights too, so i completely get the phone call situation.

I start an assignment with them end of this month. I think they are good for a first time traveler. They are a larger agency so they have more contracts than others. Although the main reason I signed on with them is because I like my recruiter (a travel nurse friend of mine referred me). It's true what experienced travelers say about how important it is to have a good recruiter. Anyways, everyone in the agency (recruiters, housing coordinators, etc.) get back to me very quickly when I contact them. Hopefully things will go well for the actual assignment itself. :)

Hello, I was wondering how your first assignment with crosscountry went, I am looking into travel and considering them :)
I am about halfway through my assignment, so far so good. Paychecks are correct and on time. I took their housing and I have a cute spacious 1 bedroom in a nice complex with good amenities. Not hard to get ahold of people so far. And my recruiter is great. I liked her philosophy when we were looking at potential assignments. She has been doing this 13 years and said "I won't try to send you to a place that is awful to travelers because honestly if you're ****** off it's more work for me." lol. So far my experience has been positive, if that changes I'll let you know. Cross Country is a large agency so you're going to see negative reviews about them. Your recruiter holds your life in her hands so if you don't like the first one they give you by all means ask for a new one.

CCTC is a larger company so they have LOTS of contracts available, that being said they seem to be on the cheap side when it comes to pay. They offered me a pay package in Northern Cali that was LESS than what I made as STAFF in KENTUCKY....I told em yea right and moved on to a smaller company haha.

I just signed on with CCTC for my first ever travel assignment and will start next week. I have had good luck with people calling me back in a timely manner thus far. My recruiter has been really good. I hope everything works out well after starting the assignment. I am actually signed up with 2 other agencies but CCTC got me an acceptable assignment first. I was going to take the housing subsidy but realized pretty quick that I was going to have an issue with my large dog because he is on the "restricted breed" at the apartment complex that they worked with. I contacted CCTC and they got right on the housing issue.
