CRNE Results June 2013

World Canada CRNE

Published

Hi all,

I want to congratulate everything on writing the June 2013 exam. I wish everyone the best of the luck. I know we are all patiently awaiting for our results now. 4-6 weeks seems like forever.

How did everyone find the exam?

I wrote my exam in Ontario. I found the test to be fair, but difficult at the same time. I felt like for every question I was able to narrow it down to 2 answers, both of which seemed like the correct answers. This was very frustrating. I wish I could say I did really well, but the truth is I really don't know. (lol). All I can say is we studied and tried our hardest, and now let's hope for the best. Have faith in yourselves. We did it. :)

Again, good luck, and may the bell curve be forever in your favor.

I swore I wouldn't become a "freak" who puts up a tent at the post office until after week 5.....better get my camping equipment ready! lol :)

I felt the test was HORRIBLE (oh yes....totally making a contorted grotesque face as I say that)!!! The girl next to me was almost in tears by the end because she was out of time and just trying to circle something. Myself, I had enough time to go back and start erasing things and changing answers....probably a bad thing! :\

I have been a nurse in the US for about 17 years. When I took the NCLEX, it shut off at 75 questions and I passed and I honestly didn't feel it was too bad....but the CRNE....ICK!! Of course, I've been out of school for a LONG time and was definitely not in the "zone" with constant testing like when you are a new grad.....and I can honestly say that I did not put in the amount of time studying that I should have...so I'm doing a lot of praying! lol

Of course, I also did what all the great "advice" givers out there say to not do...run home and start looking up everything that you may have gotten wrong.....after I realized I'd missed a good 20 questions for certain, I had to stop myself.

I'm in BC....just became a landed permanent resident (YAY!) and I've held back on applying for a job until I receive my results.....I guess I'm avoiding "eating crow" if offered a job and then have to tell them I didn't pass (if that's the case). I'm hopeful and I suppose if I did have to repeat it, the sun will still shine and the world will keep spinning....I'll definitely study more pathophysiology. I can also see myself practicing my "welcome to Starbucks....what can I get for you?" should I fail as I need to work in the time while waiting to repeat the exam!! lol Ohhh the humility of it all....I NEVER thought I'd be taking boards of any kind again....but hey...I fell in love with a darn Canadian and got married and the rest is history...here I am! You darn Canadians are so darn charming! hehe :)

Anyway, good luck to all of us....soon time will tell. I hope I see some of you out in the field....and not as I serve you a drink at Starbucks! lol

Goodluck Mo_N_Jo! I came from the US too! I find CRNE questions as sometimes vague which make it more difficult to discern what they want us to do for a patient. But I am glad it is not too knowledge based, requires more critical thinking and common sense. I found NCLEX harder. Took NCLEX 5 yrs ago.

Funny story there! :-) anyway, I have to say the exam is challenging. The exams that I took before were a bit easy. I am referring to the tests that I had to take because I got my degree in the Philippines, I am an IEN (internationally educated nurse). I took seven exam in six months ( to prove my competencies match that of a Canadian nurse). I passed all seven tests although at times I get the feeling that Illl be flunking the test. I graduated four years ago and also felt i have lost the test taking skills and forgot the lab values so I studied double time, while working as a receptionist and while going through my second pregnancy (talking about multitasking hey?). Finally i took the crne a month after giving birth. I actually bought a frame so i can put the letter stating the result in it haha.I am soo excited to see the result.Let's all pray that we get our license and be able to fully embrace this very noble profession. God speed!!!

I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

No result yet??? :(
Watching "be careful with my heart", haha! Love it!

Great job princess!! Ok... my anxiety is RIDICULOUS-OFF THE CHARTS now that I know at least ONE person has their results....ours are out there lurking on a desk....or in a mail truck...eeeeeeeeeeeeeks! I was really not that stressed about actually waiting for these darn results until the end of this past week...now I'm just...uhhhhgggggghhhh!!! lol At least we're all very aware of how everyone else feels....that's a little comforting right (just nod and smile there)? :)~

My hands were shaking while opening the big A4 size envelope!! But we i saw the word pass that's when i feel i wanted to shout but i cant coz my newborn is sleeping. Thank you so much!!! This is the greatest year evahhh!

Awww Princess...so happy for you!! I hope the year gets even better and you land a great job now that you have your results!!

I've been keeping an eye on the market and there sure aren't many full time jobs out there. Using casual employees like they do here in Canada is such a foreign concept to me coming from the U.S. But hey, we'll all find something when we're meant to I suppose!

I'm in rural northern BC and honestly there is not one listing for the little hospital we have up here and I understand that the MD offices don't use RN's either (another odd concept I'll have to get used to) but I'm sure something will come up!! I have to make sure I passed first! I guess if there is a lull in hiring, now is the best time as I'm still waiting for results....I'm so trying to see the silver lining here!! :)
