If it's affiliated with a school of nursing (ie a university) then you can't go wrong.

The one offered at the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing University of Toronto is EXCELLENT! It is a two-intensive-day course with a 150 question mock CRNE exam at the end. It focuses more on test strategies and tips on how to answer the questions according to the CNA competencies. It does not cover much knowledge although the powerpoint presention given on pharmacology and lab tests were right on point. It was my second attempt and this course truly guided me towards the right direction.

Just make sure you call the university and inquire about additional dates for this course. I took it this past September and not quite sure whether it is the only time of the year when they offer it.

This course + content review + as many practice questions = A good chance to successfully complete the CRNE

Good Luck!!

Thanks, i saw the u of t one too, but it said they only offered in Sept.

by the way, do they give u any notes in that course?

I just sold all my CRNE books a couple of days ago and gave those notes away as well. But yes, they give you a hard copy of the powerpoint presentation and a report of the mock exam.

Hi Yahy,

I really have no idea about Alberta...the funny thing is that the instructor of the course I took in Toronto had come from Alberta just for that weekend and she was amazingly good. You could perhaps call UfT and ask them if they have any affiliated CRNE courses with the University of Alberta at all.

Good luck to you as well!

The University of Alberta is in Edmonton. There's a popular misconception circulating that Calgary is the capital city of Alberta (especially in Calgary =) ), but it isn't. Yahy might want to contact either the University of Calgary or Mount Royal College.

Did you use the mosby text or the lippicott one ..

Did you use the mosby text or the lippicott one ..

Mosby's Canadian Comprehensive Review of Nursing. Second Edition + CD + Guide to Short Answer Questions on the CRNE

Mosby's Prep Guide for the Canadian RN Exam (2007)

Lippincott's CRNE Prep Guide (2009)

The Canadian Registered Nurse Exam Prep Guide 4th Edition + CD

These are the material I used in preparing for the CRNE. Guys this was my second attempt and I wanted to pass really badly because you know this exam means your future in nursing, so I used every resource available. It is a lot but think of the satisfaction and gratification this will bring when it's all over. That being said, I am not encouraging anyone to go and buy all these books if you cannot for any reason. This is just what I did and it worked for me.

Best of luck!

p.s. try to incorporate an activity you enjoy doing within your schedule and while studying. For the last 10 weeks prior to the exam I would go out for a run (45 minutes) in the morning and it really helped release a lot of the tension, especially because I invested long hours studying. So please, treat yourself, go to the movies once a week, go for a coffee with a friend, etc., that will help ease your mind and stay more focused on the positives. Finally, I did NOT touch a book or any of my notes the day before the exam. I remember going to the movies the night before and just relaxed. Plan your study schedule well and you will succeed.

Do you find the lippincott more helpful or the mosby

coz i only have the mosby ... and now i'm thinking of buying the lippincott

and the CRNE prep guide 4th ed. I just think the questions is much easier than the actual exam ...

i really don't know what to do right now

struggling if i should just give myself more time for my last chance

and wait until June 2010
