CRNE OCTOBER 2012

World Canada CRNE

Published

Hi everyone! I am an IEN from the Philippines batch 2009 I moved here in Brampton last November 2010.

I took the May 2012 CPNRE (first time) and still waiting for the results which will come out on June. Apparently, I just received my RN eligibility and so happy because it took me almost 14months (from the start of application) to wait for this. I thought CNO will make me take some courses. I was really estatic and relieved when I received the letter, because I am really rooting for RN.

Now this is it! Anyone else who are planning to take the October CRNE? :)

Let's use this thread to share our thoughts regarding preparation and questions. :)

Have you tried CNO's learning modules on professional practice and nurse client relationship?

where can I find it? dishes.

since I took a course 1st time and did not go well. so this time, I think i will study on my own. I am studying on mosby now, after that, I will move on to practice exams. I will repeat questions again and again.

Have you asked any of your instructors/professors for some CRNE study tips?

dishes,

They just said something about critical thinking. No tips actually. Are they supposed to tell students about CRNE study tips?

The exam I wrote was the CNAT and yes my instructors gave us study tips before we graduated from nursing school. Maybe nursing school instructors don't do this anymore, I don't know, but if I were in your situation, I would contact one of my instructors and explain that I had failed the CRNE and ask for support and advice.

Purchase the Readiness Test, it's really helpful. Really looks like the actual exam. And if u can get your hands on the CRNE prep guides 3rd, 4th and 5th edition, it's really helpful. You will master how to answer psychosocial questions. 1month prior the exam, I answered 600-700 questions everyday. Over and over, until I get 95-99% in all the exams. I answered mosby's prep guide, lippincotts, mosby's comprehensive exam for nurses (orange) and the latest one (blue and orange). I answered them all, and I take notes on all the items I got wrong, wrote the rationale and make sure I understand it. Also, I read more on the topics i'm weak at.

IMPORTANT: Read the question carefully, know what is being asked. NEVER OVERTHINK.

I passed both CPNRE (May 2012) and CRNE (Oct 2012). :)

Im just curious, how are you allowed to write the CPNRE and CRNE in the same year? If you're an RPN, dont you have to do at least 2 years bridging before you can write the CRNE??? I'm confused.
