hi paqua. i had my assessment done by CNO and i was devastated to learn that BSN from my country is only equivalent to a diploma and that i was directed to take a bridging program. when i called the colleges and universities in toronto to inquire i was shocked to learn that it would take at least two years of full-time schooling to complete the said program. is passing the crne the fastest ticket to become an RN in ontario considering that you took the exam for saskatchewan? does it mean that you don't have to meet the requirements anymore because you passed the exam? i had my nclex endorse to new york from california (now i'm an RN in new york) and i was just wondering if the endorsement in the US holds true in canada? hope you can enlighten me on this matter. thanks! :typing
i took the nclex-RN (and passed) last year under North Carolina nursing board(NCBON) last year but due to its strict requirements to be issued a US license, i applied with the state of Vermont and they issued one. in my case, there was no endorsement between NCBON and Vermont.
here in canada, one should have passed the CRNE and issued an RN license by the corresponding provincial board before s/he can apply for a registration in another province, and that's endorsement(they use the legal term - labour mobility). in my particular case, after i will have my SRNA license issued, i will applied with CNO thru endorsement. probably, i will fall under the transitional class. it means, i still have to go for two years for the post-RN BScN. but there is a big difference, i will be an RN working in ON and doing part time study within 4 years to meet CNO general class requirements, afterwhich automatically become a gen class rn, no need to take CRNE.
fyi, i passed the CNO RPN exam last jan 2008, and employed as such until I receive my RN license from SRNA. Actually today, i sent my initial registration application to SK.
God bless to all of you.
congrats coola! btw where did you write your exam?
I wrote in BC. All hail the CRNBC for getting results out quickly and for being truly professional all the way!
Also, when asked how we could meet the deadline for registering for Feb 09 exam if we didn't pass Oct08, they said they would extend the deadline for anyone in that position. Hopefully the other provinces can extend that courtesy.
I can't tell you how relieved I am (as it sinks in)
and for all those who believed in me and supported me :bowingpur thanks
Just called CNO. The word is that the results are being sent out this week. The person on the phone didn't specially say which day. I'm assuming they got the results from CNA today.
Thanks. If the results are being sent out this week, that means it was sent out today..right? since the post officers do not work on the weekend...
Hi,Those who got results from other provinces have any idea about the passing score. I heared (sic) last time in june it was 151.
There is no indication of what your actual grade or score, or what the pivotal number might be. The [CRNBC] letter begins with the most important word - "Congratulations...". If you read back in this thread, there seems to be more detailed explanation if you did not pass, with indication of what areas of study need more attention before retesting. If anyone received this news, care to share?

You can only know your score plus the passing mark if you fail the exam. The letter will tell you both scores.
coola
