CRNA school chances

Hi,

I was trying to get some feedback on my current stats on applying for CRNA school. I have 1.5yr of ICU experience. I have my CCRN and SCRN certifications. I have a 3.74 overall GPA and I believe my science is a 3.61. I haven’t taken the GRE but think it may be a good idea. I have already submitted one application and will be finishing up 2 more in the next few weeks. Was just looking for any feedback from people in CRNA school or anyone that can offer advice. Thank you!

*Take your GRE and maybe even retake some sciences to get your science GPA up.
*Don’t limit yourself to just a few schools. Apply to several and spread your net wide.

If you get interviews, study your butt off for them. I made a post about a month ago about how I got accepted. The title is “I got accepted into CRNA school”. My stats weren’t the best but I studied my butt off for the interview. Overall GPA is 3.51, nursing is 3.2. GRE was a 290 and writing I had a 4.0. I failed a class and received two C’s in my first semester of nursing school. I also had a C in microbiology. But, I received my CCRN, TCRN, took the TNCC, etc to help increase my chances. I work in a level 2 trauma ICU and I live in a city with Vanderbilt which is a level 1 trauma center. I literally studied soooo much for the interview. I created a study guide, bought multiple pharmacology books, looked up every possible interview tip, made sure I knew front and back about their interview style. I interviewed and it went extremely well. But even the interview can not change my stats. So I was chosen as an alternate. But I was called on the first day that alternates could be called so I must’ve been pretty high on that list. I think a lot of that had to do with my interview. But my situation is different than a lot of people, and your stats are already looking better than mine ever did. But the interview is HUGE. You could look great on paper and bomb the interview. Good luck!

Which school did you get into? Congrats!

You may need to do more and make yourself more competitive but I’d say you’re on the right track.

You can look at my post history to see what I’ve done but my stats were lower than yours, I didn’t retake any classes despite having some mess ups. I still got accepted into every school I interviewed at except one!
