CRNA school and babies -- can you have both?

I'm interested in applying to CRNA school, but I also want to have a baby sooner rather than later. My husband would be working to provide for us while I was in school (VERY flexible hours), and my mom and sister both live near by and would be able to pitch in, if needed. Know anyone that had a very young child throughout school or even had a baby DURING their schooling? How'd it go? Thanks. :)

This is a great thread. I considered going to CRNA school in my 20's before I was married, but put it off because I was planning my wedding (seemed SO important at the time) and knew I wanted to have kids soon after that. In reality we waited a few years to have kids. Now I have two of them and want to go to CRNA school, but am terrified of how busy it would be now that I am a mom. On one hand, it is a huge regret of mine that I didn't do it when I had the chance. We would be so much more stable financially right now and I wouldn't have to go to school as a mom. On the other hand, I am glad that I had my kids when I did and wouldn't change that part of my life.

If any other moms have any input please share!

WHAT!!!! Your only 24!!!! You have so much time to have babies later!!;) Get your schooling, and all the other professional aspriations that you have, done first. Reap the rewards for your hard work with being able to care for your child with or without a man. Always take care of you first!! Its 2 to 2.5 years..... not 90!!! Take your time...any endevour is a lot harder with kids than it is without!!! ( take it from me, I know, I am a single mother)

Ain't that the truth. When you're in your early twenties 30 seems ancient, it seems like a lifetime away.

At the nursing home where I work I was talking to a nurse who is 22 yrs. old. Somehow the topic of Medicare and needing nurses homes came up, and I mentioned that with all the old people living longer and longer the system would probably crash by the time we needed it.

She said, "Yea, but it's more likely to be there for you than me..."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

So, I gently reminded her that uh...there is no telling when you might need the nursing home. Furthermore, 33 doesn't put me as far ahead of her as it seems.
