Hi everyone---I really need to some help urgently. My dad was diagnosed with an illness right when I started studying for boards. That was heart breaking but he has a good prognosis. I pushed through and did the entire apex program. I thought it was great. I also purchased the 3 core concepts exams and did those. I also went to a valley review. On the day of boards, I have never been so anxious in my life. Left my place 45 minutes early, still got lost, was late and crying when I got to the testing center. It was just a real bad day. Did I mention both of my parents are CRNA's? No pressure. Long story short, I failed my boards. I am smart. I am very aware of my weaknesses. I scored highest in advanced principles and worse in basic principles. I retest in about 2 weeks and I don't know what I should be focusing on. Im all over the place. Right now I'm focusing on valley memory master and so far it seems to be helping. I need some very simple advice. Im limited on time and can't read a textbook, or do 50 different things. Thank you for taking the time to try and help. Seriously.
Thank you! I feel like I have gone through Apex a lot. Looking through things now from what I can remember from the NCE, some of the questions my brain fell into the trap of the answer Apex was asking and the board question was maybe asking for the opposite side of a curve (ie. FA/FI curve). Looking at thinking about it know what I should have picked. So maybe just going through things and thinking about the questions more. Thanks for your response and support!

The most helpful thing for me was studying the APEX mock exams inside and out. I felt like the NCE questions were different, but going through the rationales and the thought process required to arrive to the correct answer is what helped me most. I also did all of the Apex review exams multiple times and reread the rationales quite a bit.
A few days before the test I typed out everything I knew about each subject (took awhile), then went back and added small/minute facts and figures to it. You'll be surprised at how much you know (this helps with confidence), and doing so helped cement a lot of concepts and a few minute details that I ended up seeing on the NCE.
It can also be an anxiety issue, which can be tackled many different ways. For me, I took melatonin to sleep at night, and made sure to keep working out and exercising. You got this.
