critical thinking paper

I am suppose to write a critical thinking paper for school. I am to define a complex nursing care problem which is either amendable to nursing intervention or for which increased understanding will enhance nursing care. Would anyone be kind enough to help me out with coming up with a topic?

yes, but not sure how to apply pain managment to a paper of this type.

pain might not be managed effectively because of various reasons, such as concern re: effects of analgesics, or because of lack of understanding about pain management and effective use of medications

better understanding of the use of analgesics for pain management as well as the use of alternative/complementary therapies are aspects that are amenable to nursing interventions

Also issues with pain management and those that are narcotic seeking....

Skin care might be of interest and plenty a nurse can do. This can get into solutions for skin breakdown and generally a good skin care/ostomy nurse knows more about this than the doctors do.
