Critical care vs Acute care

Specializes in NICU.

Soo, this may be a dumb question but.....

When looking around for new grad opportunities, I often run across questions like "Rank your preference..." Say two of the choices are pediatrics critical care and pediatrics acute care. Can someone explain what the difference is between these two and where would the NICU fall into this? Thanks! :redbeathe

NICU would definately be critical care. Acute care is going to be more along the lines of SAC and med/surg but all ICU's and I believe ER's are considered critical care units.
