critical care differential

to anyone that doesn't mind sharing. Does your facility give a differential, bonus or any other compensation for critical care areas? If so, how much?

I always wondered about that too.

Our hospital does not offer a critical care differential. We are a children's hospital, and so the administrators feels that each unit is a specialty onto itself. However, when the hospital census is very high, the CEO of the hospital will offer "incentive pay" on a limited basis. Last time, it was an extra $10/hour for any shifts worked over your regularly scheduled hours, plus any shift over your regular schedule was overtime pay, even if you only worked 24 hours a week.

This has really helped with staffing needs duriong critical times for the hospital.
