What is the National background check consist of? What are they looking for? Felonies, misdemeanors, or summary offences?
I am in a pre nursing program and they were talking about backgrounds and I do have a summary and misdemeanor from when I was younger. Me and my daughters father got into it years ago and we both got arrested and spent 5 hours in jail. I didn't even have to pay a fine. he was abusive. I moved 700 miles away. But now I fear that I won't be able to go to clinical because of this. Some one told me they just check for felonies. Am I in the clear?
Ok, I know this thread is pretty OLD. But I have to speak about what I'm going through to get some understand and hopefully good advice.
Ok, back in 2005 I was convicted with a misdemeanor. That's the only criminal charge that I've ever had in life. (I was 18!) I just recently completed nursing school this past December 2017. And I was told that I couldn't test unit I hear back from The board of nursing. So I've been waiting and waiting to receive something from boards to approve me to take Nclex. While waiting I've been speaking to some of my classmates, that were waiting to hear from Boards too due to compliance issues. They have received letters from boards stating if they need additional documents , or if that they were approved to test. But as for me!! I'm still waiting. I called earlier the board member said My information was still under Review. Someone PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHAT'S GOING ON. I'm freaking out.
