Credentials Good Enough for CRNA Schools?

Published

Hello everyone! I am reaching out to any current SRNAs, or people who have applied and gotten into CRNA school or applied and were asked to apply the following year with updated experiences, and ask if I seem to be a good candidate. I will be applying to mainly West Coast programs minus Columbia University.

I graduated with my BSN and a 4.0 cumulative and science GPA. Started working right after I passed the NCLEX a month after graduation at Mayo Clinic in the Cardiac Care Unit for a year and a half then transferred to the Cardiac Surgical/Transplant Intensive Care Unit and am currently working on that unit. I will have 3.5 years total bedside nursing experience by the time I hope to be attending CRNA school in 2021: 1.5 in the CCU and 2yrs in the CVSTICU. I am a mentor to nursing students and new grads, on three committees for my unit, have outside volunteer experience within my community, have shadowed a crna for four weeks, have my PALS, ACLS, BLS, and CCRN, and stayed within one organization since I started nursing school.

Are there any suggestions or words of wisdom that can be given as I head into the 2021 start applications this spring?

Thanks guys!

Your stats and experience sound very competitive!

Just nail your interview and you'll be fine.

Thank you! This has been my dream ever since I could remember so I’m really nervous and excited to be applying this year! Are you in school currently?
