CPR Class

I just have a simple question; however it might a stupid one.

During the session, the instructors go through everything with you and then you take the test correct?

You don't arrive and expected to be perform and take the test.

I'm just a little worried. The subject matter is easy, I just don't want to be surprised when I get there because I prepared wrong the night before.

I'm taking BLS for Healthcare Providers.

If its like the course I took (and it should be, it's pretty standard), you'll spent a few hours with mannikins performing various CPR. AED etc. you'll be evaluated by the instructor after plenty of time learning and performing. Then, at the end you'll take a written test.

Okay, thanks a lot. I figured as much as it is a class. I just didn't want to assume and look like a idiot. Just a minor bit of doubt. Thanks a bunch.

I just took it on saturday. The way mine went was: everyone has their own dummy and air bag with detachable mask. The group of 30 or so was split into 5 groups with 5 instructors and we all sat in a big room on a mat. Then for about 3 hours you follow along with a dvd where you first see the actor perform the skill, then you practice along with the video, then on the third time the instructor checks you off on the skill. So pretty much, your instructor watches and critiques you the whole time and your being tested throughout the whole day without really even noticing it. At the end of the day you have a 20 question multiple choice test and that's it. I got my card before I left. I really, really liked the way they did this class. Years ago when I did it everyone had to share dummies and go through everything, and then be tested on it all at once at the end. This was much better and I really feel like I remember it too. Although the next day I certainly felt all those chest compressions, lol, you'll use muscles you don't usually use, or at least I did. :) Good luck!!
