Is it required for LPN's to have their CPR certifcation in Ohio? I had to have mine in school but now i'm hearing that it's not required to have an active cert for cpr when you renew your license?

CPR certification is not a license requirement but a facility (employer) requirement. So it will depend on your employer. Also, if it is required be sure to find out if it has to be American Heart Asso. (most prefer that it is).

Everywhere that I know of requires LPNs to have current CPR certification. Where I work all staff that has patient contact including PCAs and unit clerks are required to take CPR also. Why would you not want to be certified?

I think that employeers require that nurses have their CPR. Or here where I work, you must be CPR certified in order to work the floor. I am an office nurse and I also am required to have my current certification. We just did a renewal this month.
