I was on excelsior's website and when you click on the 18th edition study guide it says it won't go into effect till november. But when you click on the 18 edition summary of changes it says it goes into effect in October. Does anyone have a for sure answer on which it is?

Nona is our faculty advisor on the electronic peer network (epn). If you have not been there I highly recommend stopping by the cpne board : D

Oh ok awesome, can you provide me a link to it if you don't mind, I appreciate it greatly.

To get to the EPN, when you log in to my.excelsior.edu, go here: https://my.excelsior.edu/secapps/go/epnmanager?epn_name=Nursing (or click on communities, then academic discussion boards, then nursing discussion). Once you're at the nursing discussion boards, click "discussions" on the left, then scroll down the right until you see the CPNE discussion board. There is also a board for CPNE journals that might be helpful for you. Good luck at your CPNE!

So to clarify something because I've been studying the 18th edition since I'm going to be doing the 17th we can still use an intervention as assessing something such as acute pain with an intervention of assessing pain level? Also we can use risk for diagnoses right? Sorry for all the questions just tryin to sort out this puzzle.

IF you are testing under the 17th edtion, you can have assessment as an intervention--I don't know if you are allowed to have one or two, and you are allowed to use one at risk nursing diagnostic label and one actual nursing diagnostic label under the 17th edition. Way different rules for the 18th edition.
