If you’re referring to me I graduated from Excelsiors School of nursing 2 1/2 months ago And became a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania about 3 weeks ago
Emtpbill, I was not referring to you but thanks for your response. I've been reading you posts, Congratulations on becoming a RN. I know your journey was not fast or easy, but you did it.
I saw you mention how the program has changed. I am OK with taking the courses and mostly glad the CPNE is out and hopefully the clinical are not too bad.
Any advise for me as I move forward?
Thanks.

Advice I could give about excelsior a RN program??
Perseverance is key. As long as you get up one more time than you got knocked down, you will thrive.
One year ago this month I was working as a medic with only the cpne in my way of graduating. I actually had no intention of trying to finish it. It was this past February or March that I was looking through my junk email (which I usually never do, I usually just delete all of them) when an email from excelsior caught my eye. It stated that the virtual cpne was gonna be ended soon if the state did not grant them another Covid exemption. My wife, who was sitting next to me, asked me what I was reading and I told her. She says “why not give it one more try”.
The next day I called excelsior to get the details of the cpne during Covid. I was told everything would be done at home using computers and video. That they broke the cpne into 2 parts. The nsl is done first and once that is passed you can get scheduled for the PCS. I took the NSL and passed without a hiccup. About 2 months later I took the CPNE. I passed my first adult PCS. Failed my Pediatric PCS (only because I didn’t hit save after I had everything complete). Passed my 3rd PCS and passed my PCS2 retake.
Wanna talk about having the weight of the world off your shoulders!!
Once that was done I had to wait 2 1/2 months for conferal as I just missed the cutoff for earlier conferal date.
Then had to complete ATI. PITA that was, but had to be done.
Done that and had excelsior send transcripts to state. I live up in Pennsylvania and their BON is notoriously slow. About 7 weeks after transcripts sent I got my ATT letter.
Signed up for UWorld and 7 days later took the NCLEX-RN and haven’t looked back after passing !

Is excelsior going to local (in person) clinicals instead of CPNE? I cant' seem to find much info about this online.
