CPNE Prep

Nursing Students Excelsior

Hey y'all!

I finally got a date (which has me literally having an anxiety attack)!!! I've been studying here and there, but I really need to get it in gear!!! Sooooooo what did you think was the best prep!? Keep in mind that I do not have the money to fly to any in-person workshops! I'm definitely reviewing videos on blackboard along with faculty calls. What are your thoughts on the ATL online workshop and the extra fee for the flash cards?

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Definitely get yourself a lab kit and set up an area to do the labs in your home. Practice them over and over and over until you can do them with your eyes closed/in your sleep/with an MSN-prepared RN with a clipboard eyeballing your every move. Online workshops are great, but what will also give you a huge boost: find some study buddies! And don't think that you are limited by geography because Skype, FaceTime, etc., can be used to practice together. Some people use Facebook live in some of the Facebook groups I am in to practice their skills for everyone to see for critique and feedback. If you are not part of the "Let's Conquer the CPNE Beast Together" Facebook group, that is typically a good one for finding study buddies, getting documentation feedback, etc. I think the ATL workshop has a great reputation, they are very nice people who love to see their students succeed. With the flash cards from EC - really, save your money and make your own! Much cheaper, pretty much the same product.

Congrats on getting your date!! :)

Can I ask you when you applied for the CPNE and what your date is? I've been hearing about very long wait times.

There are a lot of good groups on facebook. DO NOT waste your money on the flashcards, it's just the CPNE study guide printed out on small cardstock. I bought them and totally regret it.

I'm planning on going to the ATL workshop in October or November. I've heard good things about it.
