Finally!! I've completed ALL of my exams and as soon as they update my status I can officially apply for the CPNE. My question is, How do you get a cancellation date? Do you get your official date first, or do you start calling right away? And once you do get your official date, can you still get a cancellation date to get in sooner? Please shed some light as to how this works. Thanks!

When you complete your application-- on EC's website-- you can select to be on the cancellation list and you can specify the time you wish to have for notice. For instance you select you are ready in Dec. 2008 (there's a little box to fill that in) and that you wish to have a one week notice prior (there's a box for that too). or whatever month or how ever many week notice up to 3 weeks max I think. I am pretty darn sure that's how it was set up when I applied last April! Anyone correct me if it's diff. now. Some people call the testing centers after they apply to expedite the process, not before they apply and are approved. Good luck!
So do you have to take the date they give you if you opt for a cancellation date? What if your not ready yet? I read somewhere in the study guide about having to pay a fee to postpone your date, or is that only if you accept the date they give you? Oh my, I think I'm stressing before it has even begun!
No you don't have to accept the date they give you! You can wait until the right one comes along. EC describes the process when they send you the papers to fill out after you get your date.

YAY!
You just tell them that you'll take a cancellation date with x amount of notice. I have been called twice for cancellations and twice got different dates than the first they offered.
