CPCC ADN Fall 2015

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hi, I submitted my application to CPCC last Tuesday (1/6/15). Wanted to know if anyone else is applying for Fall 2015 and if so, have you heard a response? And about how long until you did hear a response? I'm quite an impatient person, so I'm hoping to get peace of mind! Much obliged to any responses!!

That's great roverdew. Congratulations! If you don't mind me asking, how did you find out? Was it through the mail or through email? Just was wondering :)

I got an email. It was dated Feb 2, which seems weird... I wonder if it is just taking them a whole to get out.

Did you apply?

Hi! I plan on applying hopefully this week.. just waiting on a transcript from another school. I'm hearing that basically everyone who applies and meets the minimum criteria gets in. According to my friend who is currently in her 1st semester there, since they don't take federal loans anymore, many cannot apply. Last semester, they extended the date because of not enough qualifying applicants and that's how my friend got in at the last minute. Anyway, I hope this is true.. I still have a few general ed classes to finish, but I did pretty good on my TEAS. Congrats on those who already got in.

Hmm, that is odd but I guess those things happen. I applied in the middle of January, so I figured they'd send out emails around the same time, but it's okay. Hopefully soon! Congrats again.

Congrats @roverdew!! I'm still waiting, hopefully soon though!

I received my email today!! Finally!!! Oh the excitement!!!:up:

I applied mid January as well, I'm sure it's coming soon! :)

I think the main deciding factor is the TEAS test score. It's important to have a competitive score. Good luck! Keep us updated on this topic if you can. :)

Yes we will definitely keep in touch! See ya April 15th!!

Found out yesterday that I was accepted to the program, which is great. To all of you who have been communicating on this post, I have a quick question for you! What about CPCC made it your school of choice? I applied to another program that I won't hear from for about a month, and I'm trying to weigh my options (if I actually have some), you know pros and cons. I figured that it would be great to hear from others who are changing careers and probably have put a lot of time and research into picking a nursing program. Anything you can share would be really helpful, even people who may read this and are current and former students of schools in the Charlotte area. Thanks everyone. Allnurses.com has been sooo informative and helpful to keep up with!

Honestly, for me, the price was a huge deciding factor. This is a second career for me and I am old and wise enough to know that graduating with debt is a bad way to go (if you can avoid it).

I applied to another school here in town that has a great reputation, but honestly, in the end we all pass the same NCLEX and we all end up in the same workforce. CPCC does not have a negative reputation (that I am aware of). Additionally I found the program at CPCC a lot more well rounded.

I am chipping away at classes needed for the RN to BSN bridge at UNCC while tackling pre-reqs. All of this at a school with a very reasonable tuition. If cost is not a factor, I could see a bigger argument being made for other schools. They may have better clinical assignments. The other program has a loan forgiveness program, however, there is no guarentee of a job placement. If heaven forbid something come up where you cannot finish the program, you will have a BIG FAT BILL. They have a great pass rate, but so does CP.

At any rate... I feel honored and blessed to be accepted anywhere. :) I won't lie... if I am accepted into another program I will re-assess and make sure I am making the absolute best choice. I don't know that I would change my mind though.

Good luck! I know that these decisions can be very personal for some. I hope you pick CPCC and join our little allnurses group! ;) And congrats on getting accepted!!!
