Please contact your Congress member and ask them to setup a CoVID-19 Health Worker Victim Compensation Fund similar to what was done for those involved with 9/11 in New York. There have been a lot of doctors, nurses, first responders, etc that have died or will have long term health issues and post traumatic stress disorder. Hospitals typically do not provide much, if any, life insurance or short/long term disability benefits. Many of the doctors and nurses I know have been updating their will's or writing letters for their children just in case they die. The Federal Government has failed to provide the personal protective equipment we need to protect ourselves. The least they can do is protect our loved ones on the back end. Thanks

National Nurses Organizing Committee Wins Workers Compensation Presumptive Eligibility for Illinois Nurses and Other Essential Workers Who Contract COVID-19
National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United (NNOC/NNU) initiated the idea of presumptive eligibility for COVID-19 workers in Illinois and began working with the Illinois AFL-CIO on it on March 23. NNU worked collaboratively with the AFL-CIO and the governor's office to get it done....
... "By the nature of our work as nurses, we are in constant danger of being exposed to COVID-19," said Martese Chism, an RN in Chicago and a member of the NNOC/NNU board of directors for Region 13, which includes Chicago. "It is so important to have presumptive eligibility for nurses. We are thrilled that Gov. Pritzker has made it possible for all health care workers in Illinois to be automatically presumed eligible for workers' compensation if they contract COVID-19.”...
