I am looking forward to meeting with you to discuss this opportunity in person. Please contact me to arrange an interview at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

Any help would be appreciated.... I'm finding it harder than expected getting back into working....

Thank you:wink2:

Specializes in Pediatrics, ER.

Dear XYZ:

Through Such and Such Nursing Program, I had the opportunity to care for patients in many different clinical aspects. I rotated through XYZ hospitals/units/or clinicals and demonstrated competency in patient care planning and review, direct patient care, medication administration, and team participation. (If you had an excellent GPA you can add this in here, and use an example of being a team player. If not, you can add any direct patient care experience you've had other than via clinicals, such as a CNA and add that it has enhanced your communication skills and helped you to anticipate your patients' needs).

I became an LPN because I enjoy working with the XYZ population. I feel this is a role that requires compassion, organization, and attention to detail, all of which I feel I possess. I consider myself to be a team player and can provide excellent references that explicate this. I have a passion for nursing and take pride in the care I give.

I hope to hear from you soon to schedule an interview. I would love to meet with you to discuss this opportunity further.

Warm Regards,

Specializes in Pediatrics, ER.

P.S. if you don't have any CNA experience, you need to talk about previous work experience if you have it and how you demonstrated customer service and/or how it has helped prepare you for this career.

WOW! Thank you SO much!!! Hugh help:yeah:

Good luck as you embark upon this sure to be frightening endeavor!

Hi take this one and modify it to more fit your background. User your school experience where this cover letter calls for actual practice experience.

I am a highly motivated Registered Nurse with more than 13 years of practical experience and hands-on skill in the high-level care of patients, the competent support of clinical operations and the cost effective management of healthcare operations. In addition to exceptional nursing expertise, I'm also acknowledged for being resourceful, adaptable and self directed with the ability to handle even the most challenging situations as a result of well developed communication skills and organizational capabilities.

Recognized as a competent healthcare professional who knows how to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with physicians, staff and patients, I am also a hands-on manager and critical thinker who can quickly learn new systems, develop expertise, and produce significant contributions. Even though I possess a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in addition to my nursing degree, I am also pursuing a Master of Nursing (MSN) in order to enhance my nursing career. To that end, I am now seeking to align my experience and my skills with an organization that is looking for talented nurses that know how to deliver outstanding patient care.

Some of the key strengths I offer are:

- Proficient in all areas of nursing care and healthcare delivery with an emphasis on quality medical care and positive human interaction.

- Exceptional managerial, interpersonal, and communication skills with the experience required to remain highly focused and self-possessed in fast paced, high-stress environments.

- Solid background and training in areas where technical expertise, administration, organization, interpersonal communication, motivation and management are required.

- Tested experience in a variety of hospital settings with the ability to put patients at ease, make them comfortable when they are feeling anxious, and elicit cooperation from people under less than ideal circumstances.

- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills with the flexibility and experience required to adjust to rapidly changing schedules and frequently shifting priorities.

I would appreciate an interview to discuss the ways in which I could assist you in accomplishing your goals. Please contact me directly at anytime. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

(Disclaimer: My job experiences are outside of health care, but I've used the following idea in both education and publishing.)

Begin with a thoughtful sentence or two about the place to which you're applying. What do you know about Facility X that makes you interested in working there? An appreciative note about who we are/what my company does always makes me more interested in reading the rest of the cover letter.

Keep it short and sweet. Nobody wants to read a novel. Also, "towards" is actually "toward", without the S.
