Hi all! I will be graduating this Spring! My class assignment includes a cover letter and resume. I am open to any and all feedback! Thank you for your time.

Dear XYZ Nursing Recruiter,

I am writing to express my interest in a registered nurse position at XYZ hospital. I will graduate from Concordia University Wisconsin in May 2016 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. I believe my education, work, and clinical experience will contribute significantly to your health care team.

Over the past four years as a student nurse, I have gained valuable experience that has enhanced my passion, and dedication for delivering excellent patient centered care. My education at Concordia University has included a wide range of specialty clinical experiences that have fostered growth in caring for diverse patient populations. In addition, my preceptorship on a medical surgical unit at Aurora Grafton gave me real world nursing experience that went beyond traditional clinical practicums. This experience further developed my ability to think critically to effectively plan, implement, and evaluate the unique needs of patients.

In addition to my education, my work as a certified nursing assistant and a waitress, have helped me to manage time efficiently, anticipate client needs, and work well under pressure in a fast paced environment. My work and clinical experiences have contributed to my strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to work as reliable team member in various settings. Throughout clinical I have acted as an advocate and provided holistic care to patients and their families focusing physical, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, and spiritual aspects of health. I developed excellent communication skills and collaborated with other health care disciplines, to deliver a high quality team oriented approach to care. I realize that good communication, teamwork and a positive attitude are imperative to being a valuable member of the health care team. These components, along with a solid foundation in nursing skills, and knowledge are essential to providing safe, high quality, and compassionate patient centered care. I look forward to merging the professional, academic, and compassionate qualities I have fostered during nursing school and incorporating these qualities into my professional practice.

I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss employment opportunities at XYZ hospital. You may reach me anytime by phone at (XXX) XXX-XXXX or via e-mail at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you to schedule an interview at your convenience.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
