Hey, I was wondering if anyone is in this situation or would have any knowledge to help?
I'm a U.S. citizen who has studied at University of Sydney and now am a 4th year RN in an emergency department with a Bachelor of Nursing. I had taken paediatrics as an elective... I know extra clinical and theory of obstetrics and paediatrics is needed by Oz nurses to work in the states. I just wasn't sure the amount required and if anyone had any idea what short courses are available for this that would be approved?
All I could think of is doing a grad cert in paeds and a diploma in midwifery... however, that does seem excessive!
I'm from Michigan and I'm hoping to relocate back to California... eventually. I figured I should start sorting this out now so I could eventually do that!
Any help or thoughts from anyone would be greatly appreciated!!

Deakin university in Victoria states that their PD program for RN's in midwifery are accepted by the US. Do not know what US state, though must be accepted by a few as far as they are concerned. Will find the link.
It is their PDU and have quite a substantial list of specialties though if you scroll down near the description of the maternity nursing they make this statement
"Registered nurses with hospital certificate or undergraduate diploma or degree who wish to register in the United States of America"
Here the link for the list: http://www.deakin.edu.au/hmnbs/pdu/modules/index.php
I appreciate it, I'll look into that! Thank you sooo much!

If CA is your destination I would suggest checking with the BRN because some courses especially online or distant they will not accept
