Course by course report?

Published

Hello everybody,

I need to ask you something.

My school does not have any detailed transcripts or records anymore, so they could not provide a very detailed transcript. They wrote down the hours theoretical and practical , e.g.:

Care of the adult - internal medicine : xxx hours

but no detailes transcript with content what was tought in those hours.

Do you think that will be enough? They wrote that they need a break-down. The school also wrote that they are not required to keep records that long and that this is the only thing they can provide.

What do you think?

i am not familiar with the course by course report but i can share my opinion. my school sends the following documents to cgfns(for ces, cgfns certificate or visa screen)-:

1.) the cgfns form with breakdown of theory and clinical hours( for eg. nursing care of adult (medical/surgical)-theory *** hours/clinical *** hours. nursing care of children- theory, clinical. maternal and child health-theory,clinical. community health-theory, clinical. psychiatry nursing-theory clinical, etc..)

2.) the attested copy of my curriculum plan (not the whole curriculum but an overview)

3.) an attested copy of my academic transcript

4.) a letter addressed to cgfns and signed by the school principal certifying the dates (academic years i studied) and the degree i obtained.

if your school no longer has your transcripts just send the copy of the transcript you have and ask them to sign (and put an official seal). if you also have the copy of your course of study(curriculum) send that too. it surprises me, how could a school destroy all the information about students(i think they should be having the records but they aren't just co-operating). try to contact your professional organization or licensing authority in your country(they should have some records of the course of study) and ask them to provide the records to your school so that they can make a course by course report. or if your school was affiliated with some other university contact that uv(or the dean's office) to get the records.

good luck.

Thanks for your reply!

So far, they just did a break-down which is not very detailed, and they wrote that the law does not require that they keep the transcripts. There is curriculum, but I know that there is a law, it is a state approved 1. level general nursing program. So far, they also wrote that and gave them all the clinical practice and so on. I have a copy of that law, but this law just provide the contents and subjects the schools have to teach , it is an overview and also gives minimum hours. Of course I do not have it in Englisch, but if CGFNS still does not accept what the school is about to send out, this will be my next move. That will be several pages to be translated, will be expensive, but perhaps I have no choice.
