Counting down to my PNP boards...

Anyone have any advice as I prepare for the PNCB pediatric boards? I am working myself into a near panic!

I graduated from my MSN-PNP program in May 08, started my NP job July 1st. I was the first in my class to start working, but the last one to take boards! I took this week off to systematically cram and take practice tests before my exam on 9/15.

I stayed with my employer of 10 years in my subspecialty, so transitioning to my NP role has been fairly smooth. I have the new role, but the daily content of my practice has not changed too much. I have been so immersed in endocrine/diabetes that I'm getting scared of the primary care focus of the board exam.

Anyone take the exam recently? Any advice as I approach this pile of review books?

Hi!

I wanted to see how you did on your boards. How was the exam? I am taking the test in two weeks and I am very anxious! Do you have any tips? I have been using these two books to review: Core Review for Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification Review Guide.

What was helpful for you?

Thanks for your help!

I can tell you that I've used the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification Review guide and it was great. Really covered the content on the exam. I also went to conference and went to the review course, which was VERY helpful!!!

Good luck!
